2 new things

Earlier in the week I made some bread in the bread maker but it wasn't really a good idea... we didn't really need it or have a use for it. I really like this recipe because it doesn't call for bread flour & it has hidden oatmeal in it!
Anyway... last night I told the hubs that I was going to use it up and make french toast. for breakfast. When I got up this morning the idea of flipping bread with my 2 year old wanting to help and my 6 month old wanting to be held I looked quickly for a recipe for french toast casserole. I found a recipe on allrecipes.com that had almost 500 reviews and got 4+/5 stars... it was easy and yummy!! I think my days of flipping bread are over! At least for a while

Oh & that granola I made yesterday... aside from being really easy it was a big hit! The little one loves it & loved adding it to some yogurt for lunch!

Major Overhaul

I am working on giving this blog a MAJOR overhaul. I have a (private) blog that I keep family & friends posted on my little ones but I like keeping that private. On here I want to keep going with my knitting journal but adding some other stuff. Speaking of knitting... I need to add a few pictures of my Mosey leg warmers. They turned out so super cute. I love them! When I started them I never thought I'd finish them and certainly not before it was death hot. Well I am very happy to say that I finished them and actually wore them out for a night out with some girl friends!
Letely we've been thinking a lot about what we are putting into our bodies and into our girls... So we've been trying to eat more local/organic/homemade.... to take some control of what we are eating. I'd like to try to use this blog as a place to keep all of that information as a reference for myself and share with others what's working and not working for us. Today I made homemade granola, tomorrow on my list is pizza dough in my bread machine and maybe even some cinnamon rolls for a spacial treat on Sunday.
On top of all of that! We are moving to a new house in a week & a half! (Holy crap a week & a half!!!) There will be some home remodeling we'll be doing pretty much right away... we are going to turn a walk up attic into a home office for the hubs.
I am also thinking about making one of those lists... 101 things in 1001 days. Although not sure I'll be able to come up with 101 things I want to do! I'm looking for suggestions!

Mosey Legwarmers

I started working on these Mosey Legwarmers... I have 1 finished and am about to cast on the 2nd one. I love the way the first one turned out & to be honest I am so proud of myself!! I didn't do a normal cast on... I used this German Twisted method and it worked out much better. I used it since it is supposed to be more stretchy.

Getting organized

I'm back in action after a long break from knitting. Last week I did a bunch of knitting while at my parents house for the week. Once I take picture for Ravelry I'll add them here.
First order of business around here though... get organized! A few months ago a friend who works at the Gap gave me a bunch of hangers from Gap Kids & Baby Gap. I used some of the pants hangers to hang up my stash in 2.5 gallon Zip Lock bags in a closet that we really only use to keep our Dyson and some games. I LOVE it! Things are easy to find and all sorted out by brand of yarn!!

2 projects finally done.

I started working on this so long ago... it wasn't hard or big... it just sort of got put on the back burner. I am trying really hard to get some of these projects finished up... that will all me to buy more yarn. It has to, right? Then I will be out or at least low on yarn! Here is the very popular Ballband Dishcloth.
It is brown and "Robin's Egg Blue"
I made Katie this ice cream cone from some scrap yarn that I had around. She loves it. If you click on it to make it bigger you will notice that there is a piece of grass on it... she was playing with it outside yesterday and I didn't notice it until I posted the picture.
I am starting a list of what I want to make for Christmas this year. It is starting to get a little long!!

Something Borrowed

I am so excited to read that Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin is going to become a movie! I picked it up along with Something Blue on a buy 2 get 1 free table at Borders. I convinced my book club friend Danielle to read them and together we got everyone else to read them. Both were great books... chick lit but great! I have also read Baby Proof and Love the One Your With... both were really good but not as good as Giffin's other books.

Even more exciting... I think we will have to plan a book club outing to watch the movie!

Just in time

My friend is being induced today and I am waiting to hear how things go. But I finished the monkey in time to put it in the mail tomorrow and with luck he will arrive at her house when she does with the new baby. I think it turned out super cute. I modified this doll sweater pattern. Mr Monkey's head was way too big to fit through the little hole on that patter. I pretty much knit 2 squares for the front and back of the sweater , seamed 1/2 way up, picked up about 15 stitches and knit the sleeves in the round.

I hope the new little guy loves him! He is so cute it will almost be hard to send him away but he will have a great new home!!
